Zone & VStream Channel

In the pixel layout, you can create Zones by enabling the “Auto Zoning” option with the “Draw Cable” command.

Alternatively, you can create a zone manually by following these steps:

  1. Switch to Zone Selection mode.
  2. Run the “Create Zone” command from the toolbar.

A VStream Channel is a virtual component in the Wiring layout that can only be created from existing Zones in the pixel layout.

Here are the rules between VStream Channel and Zone:

  • Each VStream Channel corresponds to a Zone with the same name in both layouts.
  • The Zone list indicates if a Zone is used as a VStream Channel in the Wiring layout by showing a lock icon.
  • A Zone can only be used as a VStream Channel once.
  • When using the “Generate Logic Connection” command, a Zone without assigned tiles will not be generated as a VStream Channel.

However, you can manually create a VStream Channel by dragging and dropping from the Zone list to Wiring Layout.
